Dear students, parents & teachers,

As the Year of the Snake Spring Festival approaches, we wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year! The school holiday is also nearing its end, and the new academic year is about to begin. Here are some important announcements:

 * The Department of Education NSW will allocate a grant to our school (see the attached notification from the Department of Education). We will use about half of this grant to provide tuition reductions for eligible students. Students who took Chinese courses at our school last year will receive tuition reductions for the 2025 Chinese courses.

The tuition reduction applies only to Chinese courses (including Kindy course) and cannot be transferred to other courses, cannot be redeemed in cash, postponed, or carried over. Any unused reductions will be forfeited. For example, if a student took four terms last year but only re-enrolls in the second term this year, the $20 reduction for the first term will be forfeited, and they will only be eligible for reductions starting from the second term onward.

The remaining portion of the grant will be allocated to organizing a calligraphy competition, a speech contest, a cultural excursion, and other related expenses that comply with the Department of Education's regulations.

*We encourage everyone to make payments in advance to avoid queues on the first day of the term 1. If you have any questions, please contact the school by phone or email.

*Start Dates for the first term :

 * WWP Campus:

Monday classes: 3 February

 Tuesday classes: 4 January

 Saturday classes: 8 February

Granville Campus:

 Saturday classes: 8 February

Sunday classes: 9 February

At Wentworth Point, a new Year 1 class (studying "Chinese" Book 1 ) will be offered on Mondays from 3:25 pm to 5:25 pm and Saturdays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The kindy class will be held on Saturdays from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The schedule for all classes at Granville Campus remains unchanged. Please visit the school website for the timetable.

*2024 Writing Competition Awards :
Congratulations to another group of students from our school who have won awards in the 2024 "Chinese Literary Imagination" essay competition organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office!

*First Prize: Peiying You , Joel Zuo

 * Excellence Awards: Alvin He , Emily Deng , Jarek Lin , Wenjun Wei

Winning first prize is especially challenging. We will email the electronic version of the certificate to the parents, and the printed version will be publicly awarded at an appropriate occasion during a major school event. We hope other students will learn from the awardees, work hard on their essay writing, and strive to write excellent compositions.

*The results of the Chinese Proficiency Test( HSK & YCT Test ) that our students took at the end of last year have been received and are now available for inquiry. The paper certificates will be received later.
